A Modern X-ray System Installed at the Hospital in Gryfice – A Step Forward in Patient Care

The hospital in Gryfice has recently acquired a state-of-the-art uDR 780i PRO X-ray system from the renowned brand United Imaging, representing one of the most advanced solutions in diagnostic imaging. This device was purchased to modernize and enhance the workflow of the Radiology Department, and its installation and activation mark a significant milestone in the ongoing development of the hospital’s medical infrastructure.

Following the completion of installation and comprehensive technical and safety testing, the system was officially launched and is now actively serving patients. This investment not only significantly improves the quality of radiological examinations but also increases access to advanced diagnostic services in the region, addressing the growing healthcare needs of the local community.

The West Pomeranian Specialist Hospital in Gryfice was established in response to the need for expanding medical care beyond the city of Szczecin. Built in the 1970s, it has been operating at full capacity since 1985, offering a wide range of multispecialty services. Over the years, it has seen dynamic growth in both inpatient and outpatient care. Since 1999, the hospital has held a level II referral status, serving patients from multiple municipalities across West Pomerania. It currently operates as an Independent Public Healthcare Institution under the supervision of the Marshal's Office in Szczecin. The hospital’s main priority is continuous development, high-quality services, and patient safety.

The recent installation of the advanced uDR 780i PRO radiographic system at the Independent Public Healthcare Institution in Gryfice is a major step forward in enhancing diagnostic imaging quality. Thanks to cutting-edge technology, the hospital can now perform more precise X-ray examinations while minimizing radiation exposure. The uDR 780i PRO system is designed to deliver the highest imaging standards and ensure optimal working conditions for the medical staff.

A key component of this technology is the inclusion of two advanced cesium iodide (CsI) detectors measuring 43x43 cm. These detectors deliver exceptional image quality, increased detection efficiency (DQE), and high spatial resolution. As a result, extremely detailed X-ray images can be obtained with minimal radiation exposure to patients.

The system is designed for ease of use and maximum diagnostic efficiency. A height-adjustable mobile table allows for the easy positioning of patients in various health conditions—from children to elderly individuals, as well as immobile patients and those with higher body weight (up to 250 kg). The automatic synchronization between the X-ray tube and the detector significantly reduces preparation time, improving patient throughput and overall comfort. Additional features, such as an intuitive user interface on the tube head that displays key patient and system information, simplify the daily workflow of radiologic technologists. Furthermore, the system includes in-housing detector charging and wireless communication, streamlining operations and accelerating the diagnostic process.

By integrating modern technologies, the hospital in Gryfice can now offer radiographic examinations at the highest level, improving both diagnostic accuracy and the comfort and safety of patients.

Modern X-ray Technology Now Operational at the Gryfice Hospital – Benefits for Patients and Staff

The installation of the uDR 780i PRO digital X-ray system by United Imaging in the Radiology Department represents not only a significant advancement in the hospital’s medical technology but also a tangible improvement in the quality of healthcare delivered to the local population.

The new equipment brings numerous benefits for both patients and medical personnel:

  • Faster and more accurate diagnostics – High-resolution images enable the detection of even the smallest pathological changes, greatly enhancing treatment effectiveness.
  • Improved safety – Advanced technology allows for imaging with lower radiation doses, which is particularly important for children, the elderly, and patients requiring frequent imaging.
  • Enhanced patient comfort – The ergonomic design and flexible positioning capabilities make examinations more comfortable, especially for patients with limited mobility.
  • Better working conditions for staff – An intuitive interface, digital image processing, and rapid access to results support efficient and effective workflow for the medical team.

This investment in a modern X-ray system is another phase in the ongoing modernization of the facility and the elevation of service standards. As a result, residents of Gryfice and surrounding areas now have access to advanced diagnostic imaging locally, without the need to travel to larger medical centers.

We extend our sincere thanks to all individuals and institutions involved in the procurement, delivery, and installation of the new X-ray system. Your support has made it possible to introduce another improvement that directly translates into better patient care.

This marks another step toward even better, safer, and more accessible healthcare in the region.
