We are proud to announce a significant milestone in our global journey: the first-ever installation of United Imaging technology in the United Kingdom.
In close partnership with MIS Healthcare, a UK-based exclusive distributor of world-leading medical technologies, New Victoria Hospital has expanded its advanced diagnostic capabilities with the addition of our uMR® 680 – a state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging system engineered for precision, speed, and diagnostic confidence.
Located in the southeast of Glasgow, New Victoria Hospital is a flagship institution in Scotland’s modern healthcare landscape, purpose-built to serve a population of nearly 400,000 patients annually. The hospital offers a wide range of specialized services—including cardiology, renal dialysis, and gynaecology—and houses eight state-of-the-art operating theatres. Its sustainable design has earned the hospital an 'Excellent' BREEAM rating, highlighting its commitment to high environmental standards and responsible healthcare infrastructure.
The installation of the uMR® 680 will significantly enhance the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities—delivering faster, more precise imaging and unlocking a broader spectrum of clinical applications. This cutting-edge system brings next-generation MRI technology into daily clinical practice. Here’s how it sets a new benchmark in diagnostic imaging.
Integrating High-Performance System with Next-Generation AI Empowered Architechture
The uMR® 680 combines a high-performance gradient system (45 mT/m and 200 T/m/s simultaneously on each axis) with high-density surface coil arrays and industry-leading AI empowered imaging platform uAIFI. Together, they provide sharper, more detailed images—enabling faster, more confident diagnoses across a wide range of clinical applications
High-Performance Gradient Design and High-density RF Channels
With exceptional gradient performance of 45 mT/m and 200 T/m/s (simultaneously on each axis) and high-density surface coil arrays that maximize signal capture, the system delivers unmatched image quality through an improved signal-to-noise ratio.
uAIFI DeepRecon
DeepRecon utilizes advanced algorithms to eliminate unwanted noise while preserving exceptional image quality. The result is enhanced resolution, enabling precise visualization of even the smallest anatomical structures and empowering radiologists to navigate complex cases more accurately. Moreover, featuring a double safety lock design in both the image and K-space domains, our technology preserves data fidelity, ensuring the reliability of medical imaging outcomes.
Wide Bore With Starlight Design
The 70cm wide bore ensures a comfortable experience for patients of all sizes, providing ample space and a pleasant diagnostic environment. Thanks to industry-leading magnet and gradient homogeneity, the Broad Field-of-View significantly boosts efficiency by covering larger anatomical areas in a single scan while maintaining high-quality imaging even at the edges. This capability enables seamless whole-body, optimizing clinical workflow and enhancing patient comfort. The unique Starlight design further relaxes patients by creating an in-bore environment reminiscent of a clear night sky.
uAIFI EasySense: Contactless Sensing of Patients' Respiratory Motions
EasySense, the industry’s first dual-source phased-array millimeter-wave radar solution for contactless patient monitoring, allows patients to breathe freely during imaging, significantly enhancing comfort—especially for those with respiratory conditions. Our technology detects breathing movements with exceptional precision, down to 0.1 millimeters, and offers high temporal resolution, capturing data every 20 milliseconds. Fully integrated within the MRI bore and unaffected by clothing or MRI coils, it ensures interference-free imaging for consistently accurate diagnostic outcomes.
uAIFI Qscan: Whole-body Quiet Scanning
QScan is our innovative quiet scanning feature for whole-body exams, reducing scan noise by up to 97%, ensuring a more relaxed experience for patients.
Transforming Global Diagnostics: One Installation at a Time
The installation of the uMR® 680 reflects our shared vision with MIS Healthcare and New Victoria Hospital: to make advanced imaging more accessible and raise the standard of care across the UK.
This marks just the beginning of our presence in the region—a proud step forward in delivering intelligent, accessible, and innovative healthcare solutions to communities worldwide.
