Transforming Diagnostics in the Napoli Region with Three Cutting-Edge Installations

We are pleased to announce that Diagnostica e Terapia Centro Aktis in Marano di Napoli has expanded its diagnostic department with three advanced imaging systems from United Imaging. These installations were possible thanks to our longstanding partnership with Fora, a trusted provider of outsourced diagnostic and therapy services with over 50 years of presence on the global market.

A leading healthcare facility in Naples

The Aktis Center in Marano di Napoli is a comprehensive diagnostic and treatment center specializing in radiology, nuclear medicine, and radiation therapy. Its integration of leading-edge imaging technologies and medical expertise enables precise diagnostics and advanced treatments, making it a leading healthcare provider for Naples and the wider Campania region. In line with its dedication to providing top-quality care, the center has carefully selected advanced imaging modalities to enhance its diagnostic capabilities further. Among these are our uCT 820, uCT 960+, and uMR 680, each tailored to meet the center’s high standards of care.

Bringing Diagnostic Excellence Within Reach with our uCT 960+

The uCT 960+ is United Imaging’s flagship 640-slice CT scanner, delivering a new standard in the field of computed tomography. In order to ensure comfort and accessibility for patients of varying body types and sizes, it features an ultra-wide 82 cm bore with a table weight capacity of up to 318 kg.

What makes uCT 960+ truly unique is the image quality. With a 16 cm wide Z-detector and 0.5 mm detector acquisition, it provides high-resolution imaging across various anatomical areas, significantly enhancing diagnostic capabilities. Moreover, the 0.25s rotation speed ensures superior temporal resolution, with advanced reconstruction technology reducing cone beam artifacts. The result is improved clarity and minimized potential for diagnostic errors.

Designed for versatility, uCT 960+ is equipped with a suite of supportive applications for cardiology, oncology, and emergency medicine. Whether capturing low-dose, high-quality cardiac imaging in a single heartbeat or performing dynamic perfusion scans with up to 40 cm of Z-coverage using a variable pitch helix for comprehensive tissue perfusion assessment, the uCT 960+ is bound to excel in any clinical scenario.

Redefining innovation with our uCT 820

uCT 820 is an 82 cm wide bore comprehensive diagnostic tool that effortlessly meets the demanding requirements of high-volume treatment centers. With a rapid 0.25s rotation speed and an equivalent 30 MHU heat capacity attributable to the liquid-metal bearing technology, uCT 820 stands ready to perform any scan at a moment's notice. Along with reliability, uCT 820 ensures exceptional image quality. The 0.5mm Detector Pixel Size and the 1024x1024 Reconstruction Matrix deliver a high signal-to-noise ratio, enabling precise localization of fine anatomical details and small lesions. Moreover, the innovative through-silicon-via (TSV) technology significantly enhances Z-Detector performance by effectively reducing electronic noise.

Built to support physicians during the most demanding cases, uCT 820 leverages AI-based solutions, such as uAI Vision, which allows streamlined and standardized isocentric positioning for each exam, as well as a range of dedicated applications for stroke, cardiology, and oncology imaging.

Enhancing Patient Care and Imaging Excellence with the uMR 680

Designed with a spacious 70cm wide bore, the uMR 680 stands out as a highly advanced diagnostic bound to exceed the demands of high-output treatment centers. Exceptional gradient performance—45 mT/m and 200 T/m/s—coupled with outstanding magnetic field homogeneity, delivers superior image quality. These capabilities are further enhanced by the uCS® 2.0 Platform, which applies compressed sensing in clinical workflows, enabling faster and more accurate 2D, 3D, and 4D MR exams.

The uMR 680 boasts an array of innovative features. EasySense is the industry's first remote dual-source phased array millimeter-wave technology, which enables contactless respiratory motion sensing. Another transformative feature is DeepRecon, which utilizes deep learning to set a new standard in image reconstruction. Last but not least, the uMR 680 introduces QScan, a quiet scanning technology designed to improve the patient experience. Particularly beneficial for whole-body exams, this innovation reduces noise, making scans more comfortable, thus improving patient satisfaction and compliance.

Transforming Diagnostics Globally with Three Installations at a Time

Each installation stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to creating imaging technology that has the power to improve patients' lives. We would like to express our gratitude to Fora for making this collaboration possible and allowing us to contribute to the advancement of healthcare in the region.
